the august bed

Hi there! This is my last bed post for the tiny casa as the mister and I are moving back to the homestead a-go-go. We'll have much less space but there will be light, fun, laughter and more. We will be reunited with the witch-baby and there will also be a garden...whoo-hoo! in the meantime, enjoy this bed post....instead of making any art for above the bed, I hung my tiny collection of thrifted art. I think this arrangement may be a keeper. What do you think?

the may bed

My original may bed project took a back seat once I saw how festive all the Cindo de Mayo garlands I made looked. So now I have both the may bed and the june bed ready. Yay for being ahead of the game! DIYS for the garlands coming this week...

The bed is completely inspired by fiesta colors. Last month I had paired off and rolled up all of the pillowcases for future beds and the long pillowcase I had originally planned for this month wasn't cutting it, so I made one. When I make my pillowcases, I choose a different fabric for each side so I can have twice as many looks. The fabric is called Secret Garden from Alexander Henry and is newish (2010), not vintage. The flipside is from a vintage yellow sheet. I love how the bright granny squares tie it all with the happy garlands. This may be my favorite bed this year!

the march bed

Okay, here it finally! The march bed! I am so happy I managed to get that darn newspaper flower done. My orignal plan was an utter failure but when life gives me lemons I get to making lemonade. Wheee!
And I filled it out with tons o' green! Green! Green! Green! What do ya think...is that a lady or a man up there?
mister and I have turned off our internet for awhile as the cost was slightly prohibitive. If all goes well, we'll be up and running sometime next week and I'll be piggybacking on the wifi at the homestead. Happy St. Patrick's Day! I have discovered that I only own two green things to wear other than socks. I have quite a few pairs of green socks) so I need to whip up something along the lines of this, reinspired by this

the february bed

Ah, the february bed! One of my favorites to make as I like to pile on the pink. This year, I went for pink in the pillowcases and a smidge in the shabby chic thrifted duvet cover I found over the summer. The army of love sets off the tone and there ya go!

February is my birtday month and this month, mister is making me a pie. I'm also trying to promote my etsy like crazy as this a-go-go needs new shoes, a cookie scoop, camera lens and jeans that fit. I also have my eye on a quilt from a box retailer. I think I will get it for myself. Thank goodness for coupons!

the january bed

My camera lens was in repair so it took me forever to take photos of the january bed. This bed for the new year is loaded with blankets as it has been chilly here in central California. It probably doesn't help that we live in an uninsulated building with a sad wall heater. Thank goodness for a roof over our heads and lots of blankets! That nifty bedspread is a gift from Tara and it is quite dandy hanging out there with all the other bits of color. The New Year's stars were made from an empty box of cereal and that top pillowcase there is the flipside to this one made by me.
