the february bed {super duper late}
I never got around to editing the photos and then I had to find them! Zoinks! I made the pink cross in the same style as the cloud, though this time I stitched the patchworky piece to a linen napkin from World Market. I love that it turned out almost exactly as I imagined it would. Yay!
p.s.
Happy Easter!

arting it up for the february bed
I do not have any diy photos but I'll tell ya it is super easy. The hardest part is waiting for the paint to dry. I used three sheets of paper sized 11"X 17" and squirted a bunch of happy colors on each piece. I then grabbed an old credit card and got to scraping the paint around, adding more and scrape, scrape, scraping away. I ended up with a large blob of paint on each piece of paper that i scraped off with cardboard.
After the paint dried, I cut out a heart shape from each piece using a pattern I made from another piece. I used a pattern so each heart was the same size and shape and I would not have to fold the painted paper.
Hearts are taped to the wall with painters tapes. Washi tape did not hold and masking tape would probably pull paint off the wall. I do love happy scrape art!

the february bed
Ah, the february bed! One of my favorites to make as I like to pile on the pink. This year, I went for pink in the pillowcases and a smidge in the shabby chic thrifted duvet cover I found over the summer. The army of love sets off the tone and there ya go!
February is my birtday month and this month, mister is making me a pie. I'm also trying to promote my etsy like crazy as this a-go-go needs new shoes, a cookie scoop, camera lens and jeans that fit. I also have my eye on a quilt from a box retailer. I think I will get it for myself. Thank goodness for coupons!

the february bed
Eeps! It's the last day of February and I finally remembered to post pics of The February Bed, you know, the one in the tiny casa. I have no idea what I am going to do for March. The mister and I are leaving for L.A. tonight and I'm feeling a smidge under the weather. I am also feeling utterly defeated in the crafty job realm but I'll save all that mess for later...or not. Happy Leap Day!

the stand-in for the february bed
I have yet to take a picture of the February Bed and being that I spent a good two weeks down at my brother's, not to mention that he is the guy who built my bed, I thought his would make for a nice stand-in. He even said I should take a picture of it.
If you thought my bed was nifty wait till you check this out. Mine is just an awesome headboard, his is the whole shebang. Four posts, crystal door knob details, iron work and scalloped wood all has me swoony-swoon-swooning.

the february bed
i love february! there is something special about it and not simply because it is my birthday month. it marks the beginning of an almost spring and the days here in los angeles can be chilly or warm. it's a little manic, not unlike myself. when i think of february, i think of planning the garden, happy candies in jars and all sorts of pink and red milling about. welcome, the february bed!
