taggity tagged tagged tagged....

I have a confession though if you know me well this isn't news to you. I can be quite forgetful and flakey-like. I don't respond in a timely manner to many things. None of it is intentional. I promise you, I always intend to follow-through but then I forget or I have a full follow-through in my head and somehow think technology is so swell it can morph it onto my blog. That said I am attempting to respond to a few things today that may not be late or may be redundant at this point. Love me or hate me, this is how I dance. The pictures posted are just to reel you in to reading it all.Have you poked around Craftzine.com, The Crafty Crow or Crafty Stylish lately? There have been some super wonderful shout outs to me and the blogs. Check it out:

The most recent issue of Blanket Magazine is available for download. It is the travel issue and you can check out my article on how to make a traveling envelope book. And now for some tagging...the lovely Lyn of florspace has tagged me for a random meme...here goes:

1. Link to your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog - some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blog.
4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

I hope I don't repeat myself...

1. I made my first purse/bag in junior high from a McDonalds cookieland box. I unfolded it flat and covered it with packing tape, refolded it and added ribbon straps.

2. I've never seen The Crying Game, Boys Don't Cry or Brokeback Mountain but I do know all the dialogue and lyrics to Grease 2, The Pirate Movie and Shock Treatment.

3. While I love baked good and lovely sweet things, I don't like a lot of jam on my peanut butter sandwiches. Mister a-go-go still cannot make me a sufficient sandwich in this area. Always too much jam. He knows this and we have an agreement. If I want a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, I need to make it myself.

4. I was disappointed in junior high when I found out that teenagers no longer dance like they did in the fifties. I never went to a school dance because of this.

5.Also, I was shy but weirdly enough I tried out for dance performance in high school I was voted best senior dancer and best choreographer for four semesters.

6. If it were up to me there would probably be at least four kinds of bread in the casa at any given time. I like specific bread for specific things. Wheat bread for sandwiches, sourdough for toast, soft white bread for cinnamon toast or grilled sandwiches...etc.

7. Two years ago I slipped and fell while hiking with the mister. A year after the fall I began having pain in my tail bone. I now have to get the darn thing x-rayed as it is painful to stand up after sitting. A car ride is the WORST! I shift al ot when I sit now and I suppose I look freakish.

Hmmmm who to tag? I would probably tag all of you who have laready been tagged or who have tagged me in the past.

meme-i-ness

I have a list of things to write about but I slept all funky and my neck is killing me so all I want to do is well...nothing. So, to feel a tiny bit productive, I joined in on the flickr meme that is all over thep lace and this is mine:THE meme The Question and Answers...

1. What is your first name? (jessica)
2. What is your favorite food? (bread...any kind)
3. What high school did you go to? (U.S. Grant)
4. What is your favorite color? (aqua)
5. Who is your celebrity crush? (janet klein)
6. Favorite drink? (at the moment I would really like a coke slurpee)
7. Dream vacation? (road trip across the states)
8. Favorite dessert? (couldn't pick one so i went with chocolate)
9. What you want to be when you grow up? (an author)
10. What do you love most in life? (laughter and joy)
11. One Word to describe you. (whimsical)
12. Your flickr name (jek in the box)

Now I must get off this computer thing and DO something. At least I have done two loads of laundry...sigh...can I take a nap instead?

Eight Things (with pictures)...

...I have been tagged by Emily and since I am always telling and sharing just a little too much I will stick to eight things for this post and only eight things (with pictures for your viewing pleasure)...here goes.
number 1
1. I can't sleep with my toes dangling over the foot of the bed. Many years ago I read a short story in Twilight Zone Magazine about a bride who asked her new husband to tuck the blanket under her toes because even though she knew that there were no monsters under the bed she just couldn't sleep with her toes out and of course he laughs at her to grow up. She agrees she is being silly but in the middle of the night she is dragged under the bed and never returns. Now, everytime I wake up and my toes are off the foot of the bed, I quickly pull them up and I can see my teenage self reading that durned magazine oh so long ago.
number 2
2. I love, love, love Ovaltine. Especially in the blender with some frozen strawberries and ice to make it all frothy.
number 3
3. When I have too much to do and the house is a mess which is pretty much always, to de-stress, I pull out my suitcase of ribbon and reorganize it by color. I make nice neat towering stacks in red, green, pink, etc. and then I put them back in rainbow order.
number 4
4. Speaking of suitcases, I have a thing for suitcases. Especially old wonky cases and small cardboard cases. I horde them and then have no place to put them but then I fill them with things I then promptly forget about.
number 5
5. I love musicals. Especially old movies with dancing. Fred Astaire makes me especially happy and if I get up at any point in the movie to go to the kitchen or the bathroom I have to twirl and dip and use jazz hands or whatnot.
number 6
6.I was once on an episode of A Baby Story. I was the featured book expert and they flmed me dfoing a storytime about new brothers and sisters and then they interviewed me on the importance of reading. I got all flustery and nervous and used my hands...a lot and thankfully I have never seen the episode which is probably a good thing since I was wearing my prized autographed Bob McGrath t-shirt that was many sizes too small. I don't have the shirt any longer but I do have an autogrpahed CD.
number 7
7. I have an ancient yellow gameboy that is now being played endlessly becasue of the summer heat. The only video game I am good at or can even attempt to play is Tetris. Sometimes when I play for too long I start seeing the world around me in Tetris shapes. This was particurlay alarming when I worked a the bookstore and would stare at the shelves and shelves of books looking for gaps that would fit a blue or red "L" block.
number 8
8. I am a big fan of naps even though I feel guilty about taking them. I took two naps on Saturday. It was too hot to do anything else. The mister took a nap on the livingroom floor. He used his yoga mat as a cushion. When I nap, I sleep on my back with my glasses on until my snoring wakes me up.

For now, I tag The Caffeine fiend, my fellow lobster lover and the Dynamite Roxy. Failure to follow will result in me sending you endless postcards of car ads from Hollywood!
