there was rain...a lot of rain, we walked anyway. we hunted for mushrooms, hit up the library, watched movies, saw friends, finished another puzzle and celebrated a brand new year.

2010: the year in review
okee dokee folks and friends, 2010 was a dilly of year. we packed up everything we owned and delicately balanced it all jenga-style in the mama a-go-gos garage while we left, left, left los angeles and drove through and across twenty-nine states and two canadian provences. can you say CRAZY? we've been back for four months and have not yet found our footing so here's hoping 2011 straightens us out. if you care for a shortened play-by-play flow this happy link and if you care to check out all 52 weeks in review follow this kooky link. if yer just entering the picture, you can read more about our crazy trip right here. happy 2011, let the miracles dance upon us!

the week in review: dec 6-12
last week i felt so tapped out and stressed. i wasn't sleeping, there were and still are dark circles under my eyes. the wind has been blowing and combined with my stress i am a wheezy, wheezy girl. i have felt anxious and tear-filled and more than overwhelmed. i was convinced that i would have nothing to show for the week other than a handful of weepy posts and a sad, sad, sad picture of the witch-baby. thankfully, even with all the stress i did my best to bounce back and soldier on. i worked on projects and we traveled out as a family and i took my camera and photographed the good that caught my eye. when i sat down to compile pictures from the week i found all sorts of prompts for good thoughts and memories. such happy fun that i think i need to back post some days as i was in no position to write last week. so for now, here you go, a week in review that surprised me...
there was cookie baking and puppet making, project working and shop listing. we saw lights and went tree shopping and even began work on our own recycled tree. we saw sites, we watched flicks and we spent time together. we also fretted over the witch-baby, took her to the vet twice, got her hydrated and put together our thoughts on future. for now she is being pilled to bits but if it works then she will recover, if it doesn't then it is cancer and we will move on with much sadness. thank you for sticking with me, your words of warmth really helped.

the week in review: nov 22-28
last Monday we left L.A. for the drive back home and then all fell into a redux of fall ick season. there were walks and bike rides and a whole mess of craftiness. turkey was eaten for days and days and pumpkin goodness was baked and enjoyed as well. the bird baths have frozen over all week and the cold keeps my throat slightly unhappy through the night and into the day. we finished up a 1000 piece ouzzle and enjoyed cup after cup after cup of hot tea. this week will be more of the same. trying really hard to figure out the next step and not panic. but really, panic is setting in. sigh. we'll be back L.A. but only for two days as our honorary nephew has a performance and we aim to see him him shine and perhaps pick up some Cook's as well.

the week in review: nov 15-21
there was sick and recovery and the mister getting IT. there was a long drive down to los angeles and the really NOT seeing of friends because of the ick. there was dagla's and banh mi and ice cream at scoops and paradise. we tried visiting oxnard (and it was awful awful) and so we went to marukai in gardena instead. we watched young uns tango and do bollywood and lunched on yummy indian food. we vistited two parks, enjoyed the rain, played with a pooch, drank cocoa by the fire and rescued a bag of too-hot ashes from burning down the house. (and i have to say i do NOT like the new blogger editor, can't seem to size my photos correctly.)today we drive back up the coast to our new hometown. first we hope to hit up a thrift and visit two of our favorite shops. happy almost thanksgiving!
**where is our domenico?

a belated week in review: nov 1-7
I know I have a giveaway to get to and I will but for now I'll get my week in review up which shows a pretty crafty/busy week with some apple pretty thrown in. Click here to read more about the week. This week I think I will be running around like a chicken sans noggin taking care of things that aren't so pretty but I'll try to take pictures of something nice to look at. Yesterday we hung out with the nephew a-go-go and ran errands. Today we untangled the mess in the garage in search of some crafting supplies and some organization. The whole ordeal made me want to chuck it all and run away all over again but I found the crafty bits I was looking for (and spied a lot on Peg) so I guess that is something to cheer for. After the great garage reorganization we headed out for the nephew a-go-go's final flag football game. Goodness, but it was c-c-c-c-cold! Maybe not east coast cold but there was a bit of a breeze that made my nose drippy, drip like crazy. After that it was time for final game pizza, chocolate cake and one dollar cocktails. We're home now (cocktail free) and here I sit type typing away trying not to injure my sadly chapped split lip any more than I have already. I'm a sleepy tired gal today and not feeling this week but hopefully after a sit on the sofa in soft pajamas and a cup of tea while I watch Raising Hope with the family I'll feel rested enough to sleep and begin a new day tomorrow with a little less Gloomy Gus attitude. So my friends, I bid you goodnight & pleasant dreams and if yer lucky I will be pulling some names for the giveaway a-go-go.

the week in review: oct 11-17
it was a very busy week but not responsibly busy. i didn't work on resumes or look for work though the mister did. instead, i made lists and things. i painted and stitched and baked and glued and took a whole lotta photos. we did an easy trek along a bluff overlooking the pacific, enjoyed a lot of good homecookin', had a family night that involved yahtzee. watched a couple of flicks and enjoyed a stormy day. a pretty good week. yep, a pretty good week.

the week in review: oct 4-11
there were tarantulas, presents, balloons and chatter, chatter, chatter. we rode bikes, carved homegrown pumpkins and drove from L.A to SLO. it was hot, the birds were everywhere and it was a weekend of movie watching. we even returned to the apple farm in hopes of cooler weather. there are caramel apples, apple sauce and apple pie on the brain now. this week is supposed to be as hot as the last let's hope there is more news on the job front. if any of you know of any opportunities in SLO, give us a shout! **and if you read the previous post with worry, i do apologize. i simply feel very alone and even my closest cannot help right now as they are a tiny part of the feeling. not your fault though. just my perception. i'm in hibernation and hiding out mode. you can call ollie ollie soon but for now, i'm under the covers.

the week in review: sep 27-october 3
the first part of the week was stupid hot and then it wasn't very exciting and then we hopped in the car and drove down to l.a. to see friends and visit for a birthday. there was ukulele playing on the beach at night, bad french fries at an old favorite diner, thrift shopping with favorite people, hanging out with my brother and a breakfast outing with another favorite person. there was not however any job luck or spider spotting. let's hope that happens this week.

the week in review: sept 20-26
the week started out cool and fall like. we baked pie and then the heat came for a visit and it brought it's friend wind with it. i wish they would chill out and come back in a few months. let's see, we a-go-gos made things. yoyos, sock monkeys, pie, dinner...it was too hot for bike rides but we managed to hop on the bikes for a few errands instead of using Rodney. the evenings have been warm as well but nice for hanging out and taking walks. still no luck on the job front but we're trying. keep sending us good vibes, we could use them. happy fall (or spring if yer across the globe)!

the week in review: august 30-september 5
last week was chock full of hugs, squeeze, goood visits and ice cream. we left los angeles for slo on thursday where we met up with the danny boy who is no longer the young lad we knew. he's almost taller than mr. a-go-go and has facial hair to boot, gosh kiddo, we do adore you and hope you come up soon for a visit. back in slo we wandered around the valley with a sister a-go-go, hung out in morro bay, enjoyed some pretty tasty fish & chips and blackberry crumble. we rode our bikes into town in search of soba noodles and checked out an old fashioned threshing bee. a pretty good week mehtinks. a pretty good week. this week we get back to job hunting and project finishing. may your september be a happy one!

goodness, what a week! we drove and drove and drove and managed to occupy three states at one point or an other. on monday we left arizona for new mexico where we hit the gila national forest to visit the cliff dwellings of the mogollon people. then we drove onwards to texas with an overnight stay in el paso (it was kinda ick). after el paso we hit marfa and camped out at el cosmico for two nights. neat place! from there we drove the long long stretch across texas to austin where i got to meet some of my most favorite flickr peeps. if yer wanting to follow along for the ride, you can read more about our visits at the blog, add our facebook page to your favorites or check out all the pics from the road trip collection...next stop, oklahoma!
