The Week in Review: May 28-June 3

Boy howdy! Was this a busy week! Yowza! I think I will break it down day by day...

Monday: Mr. a-go-go & I woke up uber early and trekked out to Malibu where we had breakfast on the beach. We then hit the valley hoping to experience Dagla's for lunch but they were closed but we did get a chance to try Hugo's famous tacos. Pretty good.

Tuesday: Thrifty Tuesday with Jenny where I scored oodles of great vintage books and some tablecloths. Then I worked on my memior for english class. I also felt a sore throat coming on so I drank oodles and oodles of green tea with cayenne...all better, mostly!

Wednesday: School. Almost didn't make it but I did and then I did some damage at Target where I once again discover that Customer Service is a thing of the past. Grrr. I also lost my debit card but didn't discover that until Thursday. Oh and I realized (more like I got a phone call...eeps!) I totally blanked on Tinker because I wrote down the wrong dates. they had me on for this week and I had me on for next. Yikes!

Thursday: Gab-happy shopping day with the coffee queen. We traveled almost 30 miles just so we could go to a Japanese "dollar" store. Yes, we are dorks. We also drank coffee, ate fabulously cheap teriyaki and only got lost once!

Friday: Laundry, laundry and more laundry! I also hit the market and did up a handful of projects for scrumdilly-o! Phew!

Saturday: We lazed about at home. I did homework and the mister worked in the garden. We took a break to go hang out with granny and she was doing pretty well. She still has the room to herself which is nice. He last roomamte passed away and that was cinfusing for her. Sigh.

Sunday: Our neighborhood street fair was happening so we parked it at home. I crafted in fits and did homework the rest of the time. The mister put in a new drip irrigation system. We lunched out in the garden and watched the antics of the bees longer than any adult should, but I like bees. For dinner we took a gander at the fair and picked up a sub sandwich from Palermo. We split the sandwich and had a salad from the garden and it was nice. During my homework break I watched Wonderfalls. Yay!

See? Busy! This week is my last week of school before finals. Tinker tomorrow because I totally blanked. Soooo sorry Holly! I'm off to finish my Poetry Anthology and then it's bank time to get a new debit card! Happy June folks! Keep cool if you're hot and warm if you're cold!

The Week in Review: March 5-March 11

I'm not exactly sure if it was a busy week or not. I'm getting into my new school schedule which is completely different than the last two years. Yikes! I'm kinda all over the place! We've paired down and sold the Husbandman's car so have switched around a few other things but all is working out fine. Other than school I crafted a bit and got to visit with out of town friends. Mr. A-go-go got sick so the weekend was spent puttering about the casa. We wonked up a "birdbath" in the garden using a plastic plate and some wire. I hope the birdies get a kick out of it. The garden is starting to grow some more green and the part that cracks me up most is the rogue lettuce growing like a weed in all kinds of funky places. It is growing much better than the stuff we planted! Have you ever seen a seeded lettuce? The seeds look like dandelion fluff! No wonder the stuff is everywhere!

Oh, I almost forget! Other than crafting, schooling & visiting we headed out to Hollywood Blvd on Friday to cheer on Mr. Rodney Bingenheimer as he received his star on the walk of fame. Oodles of rockers and icons were there! Th Donnas & The Bangles and Richard Blade of course. I would have gotten better pictures if not for all the darn tourist snap snap snapping away...they didn't even know who he was! Grrr! Rodney & I go way back! Twenty-one years in fact when he decided to try and court me. And yes, I was very young and yes, it was creepy but it was Rodney and I adore him! I am glad he got his star, it's about time! So many other Hollywood celebs get stars without ever being true people of Hollywood or Hollywierd as Rodney would say. Rodney is such an icon of the Hollywood music scene. Check out Mayor of the Sunset Strip if ya like. It paints him in quite a sad sad picture and I think they could have done a much better job.

the week in review: january 29-february 4

There is too much to write about so I won't write much. It has been super duper busy and I really want a nap. We have a houseguest until the 12th and while it is a delight it throws my rythym off so I'm all behind and sleepy and kerfungled. This weekend we hit the road and traveled to the infamous Cabazon where we walked amongst dinosaurs, flew a kite and took many many pictures! The good news is that the T-rex is now open and you can sit in his mouth and pretend you are a Simone asking Pee-wee about his dreams, the not so good thing is that the group that now organizes the whole shebang is of the "Dinosaurs aren't real" ilk. So there ya go. Today we hit Chinatown and lunched in the hipster hubbub of Silverlake. Tonight is it lazy laziness and ginger soup making. Happy Monday folks!
