fall capsule: day 4

Day 4 returns to the green short which is paired with an olive and black striped a-line skirt from Target (Ava & Viv). It's a simple ensemble which can be paired with the plum sweater from yesterday. I like it!

fall capsule: day 3

Day 3 of the capsule features a rust colored pencil skirt from Kohl's (Apt 9) and a black and white floral tee from Loft. The sweater is plum with a label from Grace. The shoes are my trusty crocs because my feet are sad...

fall capsule 2017: day 1

Kicking off the capsule with one of the skirts (there are three that I am going to be wearing). Grey cardigan is from LOFT (of course), top is Apt 9 from Kohls, skirt is a Lularoe Madison (my first LLR purchase), and the shoes are croqs as I am working our my foot ailments and croqs were recommended. Happy (almost) fall!

summer capsule: day 12

This is the last one folks, I actually have a few more I could do but I'm getting a bit antsy to wear other things. I think I could easily be happy doing this one again but I would switch out this top. Hope you enjoyed my summer capsule! I'm already looking forward to Fall!

summer capsule: day 11

See? This skirt is everything! Looks good with fitted tops, slouchy tops, colorful tops, and neutral tops. The shoes here are Alegria and I have had them for a few years now and am STILL trying to break them in. I really like them but they are stiff.

summer capsule: day 10

Oof...this is reading as the frump to me. I do love each piece on its own, but maybe not together? Next time, I should pop on the plum cardigan instead.

summer capsule: day 9

Another winner...I really like this but sometimes worried I look like the 40 something-year-old I am. not really concerned with looking like I'm 40-something, I'm more worried I will look like a frumpy 40-something...at least this is a comfortable ensemble that isn't too frumpy...or is it?

summer capsule: day 8

Super simple outfit with the coral top from LOFT and the plaid skirt (I LOVE this skirt...from the front...) from Old Navy, and Alegria booties. Not sure what's going on in the bust area...my girls look like they are working part time as a shelf. Yikes!

summer capsule: day 7

I tried, I really did, to wear this top without a cardigan but it was NOT flattering. Ugh. Repeat on the top, the sweater, and the trousers. The shoes are oxfords from Alegria (of course).

summer capsule: day 6

Hello swishy skirt! Skirt is paired with a chambray top from LOFT (ok...I seem to buy a LOT of my tops from LOFT) and my Alegria booties. I like it!

summer capsule: day 5

This top is white with black specks and sleeveless. I got it from JC Penney and paired it with the Old Navy Skirt and a thrifted cardigan by J. Jill.

summer capsule: day 4

Another day with the blue linen tee. This time I paired it with my chambray trousers from The Gap and oxfords from Born.

summer capsule: day 3

Ok, I like this one too...probably because my hair is pink and I am smiling. Top from LOFT, denim capris by Buchman from Kohl's. The sweater is a Marshall's find and the flats are good old Dr. Scholl's. The doorstop kitty however, may not be fan. Why you looking away kitty?

summer capsule: day 2

This is probably my favorite out of all the outfits...a navy blue linen tee from LOFt with an Old Navy skirt and Alegria booties. If only the LOFT was sturdier. Siiiigh....

scrumdilly style 3: day 10

Yeah, the blouse is too poufy and there is a bit of a bag at my knees and I said the black pants didn't sag but I think they still work well save for all the cat hair they collect. I do like the brown, black, and plum combo here. Phew!

scrumdilly style 3: day 9

Shirt over dress, yay or nay? I felt comfortable in it and the shirt did not ride up but looking at the photo my vanity wants to hide under the bed. Yeesh! The shoes are Alegria (lookie, the black is on sale!), not as wide as their mary-janes or oxfords but still wide enough for my feet. These have a very slight cloggish heel and there is sparkle in the shoe. Probably not the best footwear for a 44 year old but they will be great for my punk-rock red hat days, don't ya think?

scrumdilly style 3: day 5

I liked this one. At least, it's comfortable and fairly stylish (ignore the waistband belly bulge please). The shirt is a comfy thrifted find and the pants are what I call my "old lady" ankle pant. I picked these up at Kohl's from the Croft and Barrow collection which I always think of as the old-lady shop. While these do not have pockets, the fabric fits well, does not bag, and is of a really nice black (not a green black or a brown black). The waistband fits flat and does not have an elastic insert that twists after the first washing. I hate when that happens! A nice stretch trouser that is slightly cropped keeps you from looking like you are wearing leggings. I have an ankle boot that I think would look swanky too. Also? A converse style low top if you can wear them and/or a motorcycle boot. See? Versatile! Don't be afraid of a form fitting pant!
